A few new books by friends

A few of my author friends have released books in recent weeks, or now have books available by pre-order. Here are some great reads to check out:

The Never-Open Desert Diner by James Anderson, a fellow alum of the Solstice MFA Program in Creative Writing at Pine Manor College, has been getting rave reviews. Already in its second hard-cover printing just a few weeks after its release, James’ book was even mentioned in the New York Times Book Review.

Mariam Kobras, the prolific author with Buddhapuss Ink LLC, has just released The Rosewood Guitar, one of two prequels to her award-winning Stone Trilogy. Early reviewers are thrilled with this addition to the story of popular protagonists Jon Stone and Naomi Carlsson.

Linda K. Wertheimer’s forthcoming book with Beacon Press, Faith Ed: Teaching Religion in an Age of Intolerance is now available for pre-order at Amazon. Linda’s first public reading and launch of Faith Ed will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 18 — the publication date of the book — at Porter Square Books in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
