I’m excited to report that we’re getting closer to the publication date of Book 2 in the Stray Cat Stories children’s book series: TRIBBS: THE VERY HANDSOME CAT. Book 2 is based on the true story of Tribbs, who was living as a stray with his lookalike mom on the streets of Yonkers, New York, when he was a kitten. I met him at a Pet Adoption Day at a local pet store and adopted him when he was seven months old. After a tough start in life, Tribbs finally found a loving and happy home, and he brought joy to everyone who met him (including other stray cats who came into our home scared and unsure how to adapt…like Little White!). The book offers a heartwarming message about finding happiness after a rough start and the power of love to heal — a great message for the audience of 3-8 year-olds. All of my children’s books are designed to help parents and kids talk and learn about compassion for stray animals (and all animals).
A portion of all proceeds from my Stray Cat Stories children’s book series goes to non-profit animal rescue organizations. The publisher hasn’t given me a definitive date for Book 2 yet, because the illustrator — the wonderful Laurel McKinstry Petersen — is finishing up the illustrations now. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the book will be available for the holidays (if not, early in the new year). Check this blog for an announcement when the book is ready!
Here’s a sneak peek at one of the charming illustrations (all illustrations are copyrighted):

You can order first book in the series — LITTLE WHITE: THE FERAL CAT WHO FOUND A HOME — at Amazon here (the beautiful hardcover is currently on sale) or at Barnes and Noble here. You can also walk into your local independent bookstore and ask them to order the book from Ingram. Thank you for your support!
