Tuesday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m., I’ll be teaching a class on how to use Facebook and Twitter to tune into writers’ networks and promote your writing career at Lexington Community Education. The course is a two-hour introduction to Facebook and Twitter for writers (or anyone) — from the basics of the different tools available on these social media sites, to the “do’s and dont’s” of promoting your work on a social media network (for example, sharing information about writing and literature on a regular basis, and supporting other writers’ work whenever possible, will go a long way toward getting a positive response when you post information about your own work — social media is more about building networks and exchanging information than promoting yourself).
