It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since the publication of the third book in the Stray Cat Stories Series. The story of Frazier: The Very Special Cat appears to be touching hearts young and old, and I’m grateful for the books warm reception.
I’m also grateful to have already made my first donation of a portion of the proceeds to a cat rescue organization in Texas called Shadow Cats. Shadow Cats is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of abused, abandoned, feral, stray, and injured cats in Round Rock, Austin and surrounding areas of the state. They focus their efforts on helping un-owned stray and feral cats and kittens through a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. The organization also supports community and feral cats through the One Life Fund, the Community Cat Medical Fund and other community outreach efforts.
All three of the Stray Cat Stories — Little White: The Feral Cat Who Found a Home, Tribbs: The Very Handsome Cat, and Frazier: The Very Special Cat – are based on the true stories of cats I rescued. After his rough start, the real Frazier is currently living out his life in a loving home in New England, along with his sister “Snow White” and another feline sibling. I had a chance to visit him just before the book came out, and it filled my heart to see him happy, healthy, and purring like a tractor as he lounged in the sun.
The holidays are coming up, and I’ll include a shameless plug here to consider purchasing one, two, or all of the Stray Cat Stories for a young (or older) cat lover in your life. Your support of the books is so appreciated, and I look forward to making more donations based on the books’ sales.
