My new personal essay, “Winter,” has been published

Screen Shot 2015-01-07 at 8.51.53 AM“Winter,” a new essay about one of the last visits I had with my father before he passed away in April, has just been published by Connotation Press: An Online Artifact. I am especially honored by this publication for a number of reasons. Connotation Press is a highly regarded journal packed with brilliant work by excellent writers, so I consider it a special thing to see my work there. This essay was also a tough essay for me to write, and the opportunity to share something more about my father means a great deal to me. Finally, the piece appears as one of the three featured pieces in editor Meg Tuite‘s new column, “Crazy Rabbit Review,” which highlights one poet, one fiction writer, and one creative nonfiction writer in each issue. Meg is a talented writer and editor, and her support of my work means a lot to me.

You can read “Winter” here; you’ll also find an interview in which I discuss both my writing in general and some specific things about this essay at the beginning of the section.
