I’m writing this post just before 6 p.m. on May 11. In just over six hours the clock will strike midnight and the launch date for Message from a Blue Jay will finally be here. It’s hard to believe that after a lifetime of dreaming, years of hard work, and nearly a year of preparation since the book’s acceptance, the date is finally here.
A lot will happen starting tomorrow. For one thing, I’ll post links every weekday for the next two weeks to bloggers who are taking part in the “Virtual Book Tour,” or “Blog Hop” for the book. Ten blogs will be either hosting a guest post from me on a writing-related topic, publishing an interview with me about the book, or posting a review of the book itself.
I’ll also be reading on Friday at Back Pages Books in Waltham, which is hosting a launch party for Message from a Blue Jay at 7 p.m. After my reading there will be cake (yes, cake!), cookies, wine, juice, and a chance to buy a book, get it signed, and check out the rest of this wonderful bookstore. Remember, if you have a favorite independent bookstore in your town, stop in and ask them to order Message from a Blue Jay!
If you’re on Facebook, the publisher has posted an actual countdown clock to the launch here. You can also enter to win a free signed, personalized copy (and some swag) from the publisher, Buddhapuss Ink, here. As of now you have a really good chance to win, because there haven’t been too many entries!
So, let the launch begin. Thank you for being along for the ride.
P.S. Check out the company the book is in!
