It’s been a while since I’ve added a blog post. I lost my mother at the end of 2025 — she was hospitalized on Christmas Day and passed away on New Year’s Eve. She would have been 92 on January 15. She lived a long, fulfilling life, but she wasn’t ready to go, and that made the end especially hard.

That’s been a lot to process. However, as the days and weeks have passed, life has continued. This includes aspects of my writing life, though I haven’t yet gotten back to my current writing project. I need a little more time before I can focus well on my work.

Until then, I’m pleased to say that I was one of the writers asked to contribute to this collection of 300 tips collected by Karen Schauber from accomplished flash fiction writers. The description reads: “An indispensable guide to crafting great flash fiction featuring the wisdom of 300 writers who have mastered the flash form. Curated over a five-year period, this Treasury of 300 ‘Flash Fiction Writing Tips’ brings together global perspectives and honed expertise from exceptional flash writers around the world. It is designed to meet writers at every stage of their craft.”

If you’re interested in trying flash fiction or are an accomplished writer simply seeking tips and ideas, this book is for you. Enjoy!
