Life has been busy in recent months; after losing my mother at the end of last year, Jean-Paul and I moved from Cambridge to the Berkshires in March. Writing took a back seat to these life changes, but there is plenty to see, even from the back seat.

I’ve been working on a new project, slowly but determinedly. It’s a long-form work, so it will take a while to complete a manuscript that I feel might be publishable. Even if it never reaches that point, it’s been an excellent exercise. All writing is practice, after all.

I hope to get back to short-form pieces as well. I just need life to calm down a bit so that I can get my bearings in our new home. I do have my own office now, which is a lovely change from Cambridge. I can see trees budding with leaves outside the windows as I write this.

More to come. In the meantime, I’ve been reading cozy mysteries and allowing myself time to recoup from several months of loss and change. In times of less writing, it is always helpful to read.

Onward. There’s no way through but through.
