Thanks to Huntsville Independent Press (HIP), my first book, Message from a Blue Jay, is all set to find a new generation of readers. The 10th Anniversary Edition — featuring a foreword by award-winning author Joan Schweighardt, a publisher’s note, and two essays not included in the original book — is now available for pre-order. Message from a Blue Jay is a collection of personal essays covering topics ranging from travel to illness to aging and the natural world. I wrote it over a period of about six years, and the original edition was published by Buddhapuss Ink in 2014. I am honored and proud to see it’s new edition hit bookstore shelves.

HIP is also making a fun little trilogy available in the fiction category. Three of my short fictions — “The Varmint,” “Capture the Moon,” and “Who Let the Cats Out?” — have been anthologized in a chapbook that is perfect for a flight or stocking stuffer this holiday season. Each story has its own personality and twist, from light and humorous to literary and just a bit mind-bending. All, true to form, feature an appearance from a four-legged creature.

Both Message from a Blue Jay, 10th Anniversary Edition and The Varmint and Other Short Stories will be launched December 1, and are available now for pre-order directly from the publisher. Order your copies at this link. And if you haven’t picked up your copy of my popular collection of upbeat 100-word stories, Soul to Soul: Tiny Stories of Hope and Resilience yet, you’ll find the link there, too.
