I’ve been working on a long-form project for some time now, and I don’t expect to finish it until next year. However, I still take time occasionally to write a shorter-form piece.
Recently, an online literary journal called “A Story in 100 Words” requested submissions on the theme “frontier.” Writers could interpret the theme however they liked.
There was a time when I was writing *only* 100-word stories (drabbles), so I thought it would be fun to work one up to submit. I wrote a piece and sent it in, and the story was published as their September 7 featured piece. My drabble has a little twist on the theme.
